HHHunt's Commitment to RVA

SHARE

When HHHunt was founded in 1966, Harry H. Hunt, III instilled the importance of investing in the cities and towns where the company had a presence. That included using local vendors and businesses to build and maintain properties, hiring local talent, and giving back to the community through volunteerism and philanthropy. That is especially true in the Richmond, Virginia community. What many might not know is that Richmond has always held a special place in Mr. Hunt’s heart. He grew up in Richmond and graduated from St. Christopher’s School in 1952. Since HHHunt broke ground on its first project in the region in 1979, the company made a long-term commitment to supporting and investing in the RVA community.

Buying Local in RVA

Since entering the Richmond, VA market, HHHunt has built over:

• 10,000 new home lots

• 8,832 apartment homes

• 4,000 single-family homes

• 5 senior living communities

With each project, we use locally-based companies in the Richmond region to assist in the construction, maintenance, and social programming at our properties. Unlike other builders, we are committed to supporting those businesses that live, work, and play in RVA. Some of the local businesses we support include Plumbright, CR Phillips Electrical, American Applicators, Old Dominion Cabinets, Old Dominion Floors, Timmons Group, Urban Core Construction, and hundreds of others. Our Chief Financial Officer, Ann Kelly, summed it up best:

“Supporting the local communities in which we live and work is at the heart of who we are at HHHunt. We built our first apartment home community in Richmond, Honeytree, in 1981. Since that time, we’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars into RVA businesses and grown to be one of the largest employers in the area. We’re proud to have partnered with so many Richmond-based companies and organizations and look forward to continuing our partnership with them for decades to come.”

Giving Back to the RVA Community

“One of our most important Brand Promises is to be an Engaged Community Partner. Our team members volunteer thousands of hours each year to local Richmond non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity of Goochland County, FeedMore, the Henrico County Public School Foundation and Goochland Education Foundation, the American Heart Association, ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, and hundreds more. Giving back to the Richmond community is important to HHHunt because the Richmond community gives so much to us.”
-Buck Hunt, President & CEO of HHHunt

Every year, HHHunt employees volunteer thousands of hours to support Richmond-region charities and non-profits. At HHHunt, our Vision is to improve the world and how people live by creating meaningful experiences and places of great distinction. That is why supporting our communities through volunteerism is part of our corporate culture. We are committed to empowering our team members to give back and help transform the communities we serve for the better.
