River Mill: National Night Out

The River Mill Homeowners’ Association hosted its first National Night Out on August 2, 2022, at The Connexion. As the name Connexion implies, we invite homeowners to connect and build community while enjoying thoughtfully-planned and fun events. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

Homeowners got the opportunity to meet local law enforcement and hear safety tips. All ages were invited to climb aboard the fire trucks and police cars and pose for a picture! This was a great way to put a face to the names of local law enforcement and first responders. The Chick-fil-A of Virginia Center stopped by to provide meals to attendees. They also passed out mini cow stuffed animals for kids to take home! Once the attendees spent time with law enforcement, they cooled off by the pool with popsicles. Pool floats were handed out, and attendees enjoyed floating and socializing while listening to tunes provided by DJ Eric Lee. Next to the amphitheater is a beautiful resort-style pool with a large sundeck. The pool is the perfect place to cool off while hearing live music offered throughout the summer at the amphitheater next door.
